The Different Lives of between Men and Women

Since the 1960s, Korea has developed rapidly as the 11th president of Korea. Many population increased, and the same time the women's status has come up with men' position. Many women wanted position and role same as men, and argued for equal rights. So, men's activities and lifestyles are similarly situated. Although the difference between men and women have disappeared in many parts of our life, there are still many different lifestyles because of the biggest reason that is the 'Confucian ideas' that were made by 'Confucius' and 'Mencius' who were scholars in ancient china. Therefore, today in the Korea lives of men and women are different in terms of the type of activities they do, the sort of work they do, and rewards they receive.
The first thing is that men and women differ in their type of activities in their leisure time. Men have valued outdoor activities more than indoor activities for a long time. On the other hand, women do not and so they restrict their outdoor activities. For instance, after men work hard in their office, they enjoy playing sports or watching the sports games with their friends or co-workers on their weekend such as going to Staple Center to see the basketball games, or playing basketball in the gym. Unlike men in Korea, who spend more time doing the outdoor activities, women in Korea live to do indoor activities with their friends or mother or alone like chatting or gossiping about men's appearance, women's life, or brand-new accessories like rings, necklaces, and bags.
Another thing is the difference of work between men and women in their workplace. Most men work without any restraint in their office or company, whereas women are limited to work a little bit. For instance, men must serve in military for two years in Korea. They can also go high positions like a sergeant, a captain, or a general if they want to get jobs in military, while women can voluntarily serve in the army, but their position are confined as sergeant and captain. The other of example is that men's salaries are higher than women's salaries.
Not only type of activities and work they do, but also rewards they receive are differ from men to women. Above all, men are given feel passion and energies from their outdoor activities and workplace. On the other hand, women receive stable mind and emotion in their free time and from their jobs. For example, after doing the outdoor activities and taking a shower, men look exhausted, but acturally it is to fill with energies. Men do not show their sleepy eyes and sit limply in the chair anymore. In contrast, women receive stable mind through indoor activities to take a break as well as they get the pleasant and get rid of stress to go shopping such as purchasing nice clothing and entirely new cosmetics.
In spite of being equally position between men and women as well, we can see still the difference of the lives of men and women- type of activities they do, sort of work they do, and rewards they receive. A few conservative men still believe the lives of men and women should not be identical, and think in terms of the stereotype that women should do house work or indoor activities. The lives of men and women are much different until recently; however, this idea will vanish soon. We should think outside the box and prepare lives that are changing everyday.
